Visiting Columbus with Children
Huge award-winning science and natural history museum with hands-on exhibits for kids ranging from toddlers up to teens. Dinosaurs, IMAX, Planetarium. Also has a new, large playground out front. A 25 minute walk from hotel.
Scioto Mile/Bicentennial Park
A nice new walkway/park by the river downtown—great place for kids to run around. Right across the river from COSI. A 15 minute walk from hotel
Great park for kids to run around less than a ten minute walk from the hotel.
Franklin Park Conservatory
Indoor and outdoor gardens and exhibitions on a variety of ecosystems and climates. Also a Chihuly glass collection. A special exhibit featuring interactive visual projections will be on during the conference. A 12 minute drive.
Columbus Museum of Art
A lot of collections and special exhibitions appealing to conference attendees (see special events page), but also a particularly welcoming museum for children, with a number of interactive displays on the lower level. A 25 minute walk from hotel.
World-famous zoo and aquarium. A half-hour drive north.
Columbus Children’s Theatre
Check the website to see if any productions are going to be on. Right around the corner from the hotel.
