“Queen City Tour” (2 hours)
Take a two-hour walking tour of Buffalo’s downtown core and see early examples of American commercial architecture. Buffalo offers a living museum of architectural history told through the works of Frank Lloyd Wright, Louis Sullivan, H. H. New York Times architecture critic Nicolai Ouroussoff has praised Buffalo’s “rich tradition of architectural experimentation.” Landmarks like The Guaranty Building, a gloriously ornamented steel skyscraper, and Ellicott Square, the largest office complex in the world when it was built in 1896, join architectural beauties like Buffalo’s City Hall, with its colored terra cotta in Native American patterns, as part of this tour.
